Genealogy Policy

The Mason County Clerk's Office is happy to assist our residents with their genealogy needs.

Due to the high volume of items that the Clerk's Office offers to the public, we are requesting that requests for genealogy records be made via an appointment with the office. Please call 231-843-8202 Option 1 to set up a time for our office to assist you. 

Additionally, it would be most helpful if requests were sent in via email prior to your arrival, or order being placed, so that staff could confirm that the documents are indeed located in the Mason County Clerk's Office; and to streamline your wait time. 

Please email requests to cakelly@masoncountymi.gov and an email confirmation will be sent back with regards to any possible questions or concerns.
