Airport Zoning

The Mason County Zoning Department is responsible for the implementation of the Airport Zoning Overlay Zone pursuant to the authority conferred by the provisions of the Airport Zoning Act, being Act No. 23 of the Public Acts of the State of Michigan of the year 1950 (extra session). The Mason County Zoning Board of Appeals hears variances related to Airport Zoning.
 
The ordinance establishes regulations on land within a ten (10) mile radius of the Mason County Airport, including parts of the City of Ludington, Pere Marquette Charter Township, Hamlin, Victory, Amber, Custer, Riverton, and Summit Townships.   Height restrictions AND land use restrictions may apply.
